Paul Mosley really should be a household name by now. But there’s also a hidden layer in there that recalls the breezier side of Motown. Mosley adopts the kind of jaunty ‘almost reggae’ that was sometimes peddled by Randy Newman, and there’s some deep. ‘Scooby Doo‘ on the other hand recalls Paul Simon‘s most commercial work. The self released Monkey Hanger is out now, and is quite simply a mighty fine album that wouldn’t be out of place on anyone‘s end of year list.
