Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin on Monday met Khalil al-Hayya, the newly appointed head of Hamas’s political bureau, and his accompanying delegation in Istanbul.
The meeting also expressed concern that Israel was escalating its attacks on the Gaza Strip instead of responding to the roadmap.
Kalin and the Hamas delegation also discussed Israel’s continued illegal settlement activities and the growing violence by Israeli settlers.
On the humanitarian situation in Gaza, the meeting reaffirmed Turkey’s support for the territory, both through political efforts and by improving the delivery of humanitarian aid.
