"My husband was in law enforcement for eight years and put his badge up just so that I could pursue this," Harper said. Mendenhall now serves as Harper's tour manager as she travels the country on her first national tour, named the String Cheese Tour after her breakout original song. Sargento Cheese, the Wisconsin-based cheesemaker that reached out to Harper early in her rise, signed on as the tour's official sponsor in a year-long partnership that includes a custom-wrapped bus and a campaign tied to National String Cheese Day on Sept. 20. Harper has also spoken about the emotional weight of performing "String Cheese" night after night.
