Workers lost jobs. Over 1,622 of them in Charlotte through July 2026, marking a 10% spike from the same stretch in 2025. The company will close its Matthews distribution center in August, resulting in 373 lost jobs. Since that sale, more than 1,600 Matthews jobs have been either cut or moved. The Shelby closure will result in 282 job losses by Aug. 31.
