Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed the country’s Ambassador to the United States, Olha Stefanishyna, on Monday, according to Reuters. Her departure had been expected for several weeks and comes amid a broader reshuffle of senior Ukrainian officials, including the replacement of the prime minister and defense minister. In a Facebook post, Stefanishyna said leaving the position was “her own decision, driven by personal circumstances” and said she had achieved significant results during her tenure. Ukraine’s Suspilne public broadcaster reported last week that Stefanishyna said Zelenskyy had not asked for her resignation. Ukrainian media linked her planned departure to long-running investigations into alleged irregularities in her asset declarations.
