Casey Mize is on the move after spending the last six and a half seasons with the Detroit Tigers. Per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Tigers traded the starting pitcher to the San Diego Padres. The trade doesn't come as too much of a surprise given the position the Tigers are in this year. At 54-58 on the season, Detroit was bound to sell at the deadline, and Mize was one of its most highly coveted players. Mize is also on an expiring deal and will be a free agent this offseason, making him even more attractive to contenders ahead of the deadline.
