Henderson/Getty ImagesWinner: Long-Term PlanningThe Jose Soriano trade was a clear statement that the Blue Jays want to be a player in the American League for 2027 and beyond. Soriano is under team control until 2028, and he'll be part of a triumvirate with Dylan Cease and Trey Yesavage at the top of the Jays' rotation. Bringing back Spencer Arrighetti in the Daulton Varsho deal is a sneaky good move for the future as well. The 26-year-old held opposing hitters to a .215 average over 88 innings in 2026 and he's not a free agent until 2030. The record isn't going to get much better and Kevin Gausman is now pitching in Chicago.
