Bexley Council’s development company, BexleyCo, has begun work on 121 new homes in Bursted Woods, Barnehurst, as part of efforts to provide high-quality housing for residents.
Councillor David Leaf, leader of Bexley Council, said: "We have ambitious plans to support good quality housing growth in the right places in Bexley and this site will be regenerated with new family homes.
The project forms part of BexleyCo Homes’ wider ambition to invest in and deliver 1,000 homes across the borough over the next 10 years.
The council-owned company currently has 10 sites in development, which are expected to deliver 472 new homes for Bexley residents over the next five years.
BexleyCo said its developments will also support local jobs and skills opportunities as construction work progresses.
