Woman arrested for attempting to kill relative with chainsaw in TochigiTOCHIGI (TR) – Police in Utsunomiya City have arrested a 36-year-old woman for allegedly attempting to murder a male relative by thrusting a chainsaw into his stomach, reports Fuji News Network (Aug. 3). On Sunday, Nozomi Nagata, whose address is unknown, allegedly attacked the victim, a man in his 60s, with a small chainsaw in a parking lot in the city’s Izumicho area. The victim suffered cuts to his abdomen and right arm but is believed to have escaped with minor injuries. Nagata remained at the scene after the attack and was arrested in the act for attempted murder by arriving officers. Upon being taken into custody, Nagata remained tight-lipped regarding her motive.
