The October Holiday takes place a few days before Halloween, which falls on a Saturday this year. Bank holidays mean workers get an additional day off, whether that’s the day of the holiday or a day in lieu. The Irish Independent earlier this year reported an additional bank holiday would cost the country in the region of €355 million.
