Victorian Premier Ben Carroll has begun leaving his mark on the state’s public service, appointing Chris Barrett head of service. Carroll announced Barrett would replace Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPC) secretary Jeremi Moule on Friday, three days after being sworn in as premier. Barrett, who starts in the job today, already has his first priority. The new premier has tasked DPC with planning a royal commission into Big Build corruption, with the intent of starting before the November election.
