Coalition wrong on agency closures, Greens say

The Australian Greens have attacked the federal opposition for flagging it would slash public sector jobs and agencies, as this would open the door to further use of consultants.
Greens Senator Barbara Pocock told The Mandarin that remarks from opposition leader Angus Taylor at a small business forum last week that envisioned agency closures would lead to more expenditure on consultants to fill gaps.
Taylor flagged that the opposition would shut down climate-change-related departments and the various housing schemes he branded “wasteful bureaucracy”.
