SIOUX FALLS — A Sioux Falls man is behind bars in Iowa after police say he stabbed a victim to death before fleeing the scene last week. Chiek is currently in custody in Monona County, Iowa, as law enforcement works to extradite him to Sioux Falls. Authorities identified the victim Monday, Aug. 3, as 43-year-old Nysam Chagi, of Sioux Falls. Sioux Falls Police Chief Jon Thum confirmed that technology included Flock cameras, as well as live-feed cameras and video surveillance from neighboring businesses. Thum acknowledged Monday the weight of the case, calling Chagi’s killing a tragedy that impacts many families and communities in Sioux Falls.
