RAPID CITY, S.D.— Wildfires burning in the Pacific Northwest, the Northern Rockies, and now Wyoming have blanketed the Black Hills with smoke over the past several days. Despite the smoky conditions the Rapid City Fire Department says it has not had an increase in service calls. And with smoke affecting visibility wildfire could be a little harder to identify. Those prohibit campfires and driving off National Forest System roads, among other fire safety measures.
