So why, within its avalanche of incompetence, did our government decide to go to war against bicycles. So in Copenhagen, bike lanes run alongside most major streets. So it was with surprise, not really shock, that I read an NPR article about the U.S. Department of Transportation’s war on bicycles. And all mention of bicycles, including safety tips, have been stripped from the DOT websites. But I just don’t know how something as innocent and good for you as riding a bicycle got dragged into the political cataclysm of our times.
