Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has approved the launch of the Facial Recognition Attendance Monitoring and Evaluation System (FRAMES) to digitally monitor the attendance of teachers and school staff across the province.
The approval came during a high level meeting of the School Education Department attended by Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah, Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah, School Education Secretary Zahid Abbasi, and other senior officials.
Under the new system, the Education Department will use facial recognition technology to record and monitor the attendance of teaching and non teaching staff in government schools.
They said authorities selected one district from each division for the pilot phase and completed the registration of teaching and non teaching staff in all six districts.
They also said the department has completed the geo tagging of schools, while the system will automatically record teachers’ arrival and departure times and maintain secure attendance records.
