San Bernardino County prosecutors filed murder charges Monday against 66-year-old Jianquan Bo in connection with a July 29 kidnapping that left a Chino Hills man dead, days after deputies fatally shot Bo's alleged accomplice during a pursuit that ended with the victim shot inside the trunk of a car.
Two suspects, Bo and 67-year-old Zhengfeng Bo, shot and kidnapped Aikebaer at that location before forcing him into the trunk of a Nissan Altima bearing Oregon license plates and fleeing the scene.
Deputies immediately returned fire, killing Zhengfeng Bo at the scene.
Detectives determined that Aikebaer and Zhengfeng Bo knew each other through a prior working relationship, with business records showing both men listed together in at least two limited liability companies.
San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus described the killing Monday as a calculated act of violence in announcing the murder charges against Jianquan Bo, who remains jailed without bail.
