On August 4, 2008, the Police Service Commission announced the demotion of Nuhu Ribadu from Assistant Inspector-General of Police to Deputy Commissioner of Police.
Ribadu, who previously served as an AIG, will revert to the rank of DCP with immediate effect.
Despite pressure to discharge him, Dr. Adadevoh insisted that Sawyer be isolated and tested for Ebola.
In the days that followed, Dr. Adadevoh and other staff who had contact with him were placed under observation.
Test results later confirmed that Dr. Adadevoh had contracted the virus.
