The application was for 16A Fisher Street and the decision, which was subject to conditions, was made on Wednesday (July 29).
According to a planning statement the property is situated within Carlisle city centre and lies within the designated Carlisle City Centre Conservation Area.
“The building currently contains commercial accommodation at ground floor level with residential accommodation occupying the upper floors.
According to the report the proposed development consists predominantly of internal alterations associated with the conversion of the existing residential accommodation to an HMO.
“The development represents an appropriate and sustainable reuse of existingaccommodation within Carlisle city centre and is considered acceptable in design, access and heritage terms.”
