You don’t have to show an ID to vote, but you need to show one to shop at one of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s socialist grocery stores. A reporter asked Mamdani how the city will stop people from taking advantage of the discount grocery stores and if they’ll ration items. Mamdani wants to protect tax payer funded grocery store from non-NYC residents… they’ll need an ID card to enter. However, the government runs the library, so yes, the city issues you a library card. Therefore, a library card is a form of government ID.
