The council has approved proposals for a synthetic turf pitch on land in Edisford Road, along with fencing, floodlights, an acoustic barrier, an access path, a toilet block and other associated equipment. The application was submitted by the council, with sports facility specialists Labosport acting as agent. The development will be built on the playing field at Edisford Road, Clitheroe. Council planners approved the scheme subject to a number of conditions covering issues including biodiversity, landscaping, drainage, noise and highway safety. Within six months of completion, certification must be provided showing the pitch has met FIFA Quality standards and has been registered on the Football Association's Register of Football Turf Pitches.
