A long standing restaurant in Tipperary Town is to close on August 16th. La Candela located at Bank Place has been in business for 20 years but says it is impossible to stay open given increases in operating costs and difficulty in finding staff. The closure was announced online and anyone with gift vouchers for La Candela are encouraged to use them before August 16th. Many customers are expressing sadness at the news of the closure of the restaurant which offered Italian/Mediterranean cuisine. The closure comes after closure of the Shamrog Bistro (due to retirement) at the end of May leaving the town without two of its most popular dining venues.
