Cllr Liam Browne is to host a public meeting on the ongoing water supply issues in West Tipperary in particular issues in the Dundrum, Knockavilla, Annacarty, Ardmayle and Clonoulty areas, along with many communities in between. A local resident with four children under 14 has shared how difficult life has been with sporadic water supply from the Ironmills plant over the last month. On Friday(July31st)Uisce Eireann placed a Boil Water Notice on the Galtee Regional Scheme due to the poor quality of the raw water supply and also warns of possible day time outages due to the level of demand for treated water. Poor quality raw water at the Springmount Water Treatment Plant is the reason for a Boil Water Notice issued on July 25th for over 4,850 customers on the Golden to Cashel Public Water Supply and finally the Boil Water Notice on the Galtee Regional Water Supply Scheme supplying 11,830 customers is due to low raw water levels at the Galtee Regional Water Treatment Plant which may affect the disinfection process at the plant. In total over 33,280 customers in South Tipperary are on Boil Water Notices.
