Eden Aurelius is a relatively recent arrival to New York’s underground club scene, but her slim discography so far shows remarkable focus. 0.0While recording Plateau, Aurelius said that she “became obsessed with this vast open feeling—being at a point where everything is colliding together and forming in front of you.” That glimpse of the sublime fuels all six tracks on Entre Nous, a succinct but immersive intensification of the foggy, ruminative sound she explored on Plateau. Entre Nous frequently summons an unusually tactile sound: The high end is as wispy as someone’s hair brushing against your cheek, and the bass, turned up loud enough, is chest-rattling. It starts off sounding like the most minimalist of the album’s tracks, bass and high-end fizz sketching out a loping rhythm that resembles brushed jazz drumming.
