Pacific Leaders Advance Climate Finance Proposals To Build Climate-resilient Education Systems4 August 2026 | Nadi, Fiji - Pacific education and climate change leaders are gathering this week for the Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) “Supporting Access to Climate Finance Concept Note Development” Workshop to develop concept-ready proposals aimed at attracting climate investment to strengthen education systems in the Pacific.
“In April this year, countries came together through CSESI to identify shared climate-resilient education priorities and explore opportunities to access climate finance.
The Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative is supported by the Global Partnership for Education and implemented in partnership with Ministries of Education, Pacific Heads of Education Systems (PHES), UNESCO, UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP-UNESCO) and Save the Children.
The initiative supports Pacific countries to strengthen education system resilience, integrate climate considerations into education planning and improve access to climate finance.
NotesThe Climate Smart Education Systems Initiative (CSESI) supports up to 14 Pacific countries to strengthen climate resilience, safety and continuity across education systems.
