Hunter08/04/26A Coralville man was taken into custody over the weekend after a late-night domestic abuse call. Police were called to the 10th Street apartment of 29-year-old Andrew Cooper just before 2:40am Sunday after a woman called dispatch and the call was disconnected. According to court records, Cooper put his arm around his wife’s neck which impeded her ability to breathe. He also allegedly put his other hand over her face, which caused pain and further hampered her ability to breathe. Cooper was arrested and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault causing Injury, Domestic Abuse Assault impeding Airflow, and Obstruction of Emergency Communications.
