An ongoing investigation resulted in a 22-year-old Allen County man having a criminal abuse charge upgraded to murder in the death of a one-year-old child. The Scottsville Police Department charged Devean Williams, of Scottsville, with murder in the death of the child on Cottage Drive in Scottsville on July 27. That same day, he was initially charged with first-degree criminal abuse (victim under the age of 12). A woman, 22-year-old Alexandrae Price, of Scottsville, has also been arrested and charged with first-degree criminal abuse (victim under the age of 12). All three suspects are being held in the Simpson County Detention Center.
