Rather than focusing on sensationalized drama, Union County follows people trying to rebuild their lives through a county-mandated drug court rehabilitation program. Instead, they're people who were actively involved in the rehabilitation program, bringing an extra layer of realism to the story. Union County marks Meeks' feature directorial debut after previously directing several short films.
