This Saturday, The Photographers’ Gallery transforms the Soho Photography Quarter into an open-air stage for Inside Out: Echoes, a free afternoon celebrating the Japanese women shaping London’s contemporary cultural scene through music, photography and moving image.
Courtesy the artist and ApertureThe event has been conceived to coincide with Japanese Women Photographers: From 1950s to Now, The Photographers’ Gallery’s major summer exhibition showcasing more than 200 works by 27 pioneering photographers whose practices reshaped the history of Japanese photography.
Together, the exhibition and the outdoor programme celebrate generations of Japanese women whose work continues to influence contemporary visual culture.
