Guardians of the Galaxy actor Dave Bautista is reportedly in talks to take on the role of Kratos in Amazon’s upcoming God of War live-action series. Originally, Ryan Hurst was cast in the role of the character and had started filming, but suffered a torn bicep that resulted in production being suspended. However, due to the amount of time that Hurst’s injury would take to heal, it was decided to recast the role instead — and it appears Bautista is now in the running. Bautista originally started out as a wrestler and has since made the transition to Hollywood films, much like Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and John Cena. In related news, it has been reported that Amazon is looking to recast the roles of Atreus and Thurd for the second series of God of War, in order to accommodate the time jump between God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarok.
