Activision has released an emergency patch for the PS5 version of Call of Duty: Black Ops II after hackers over the weekend caused the game to crash for players by forcing their accounts to reach incorrect Prestige Levels. Speaking on the official Call of Duty Updates X account, the publisher had the following to say:We’ve released backend updates to improve match security as we review accounts with incorrect Prestige levels. Both Call of Duty Black Ops and Call of Duty Black Ops II were released for PS4 & PS5 back in July, although they are very barebones ports that feature little in the way of visual and quality-of-life improvements. Call of Duty: Black Ops and Call of Duty: Black Ops II are currently available for $19.99 each for a limited time, and will cost $39.99 from August 6 onwards. Black Ops originally launched in November 2010 for PS3, PC, DS, Wii, and Xbox 360 with Black Ops 2 following two years later on PS3, PC, Wii U, and Xbox 360.
