The home, a 1,800-square-foot, four-bedroom space occupied by a couple (their parents visit often), emerged as something quietly distinctive: tactile yet warm, its microconcrete shell softened by accents of terracotta, indigo and olive. The design evolved gradually through conversations, mock-ups and decisions made on site, allowing each detail to be refined as it was built. Gentle ThresholdThe entrance is quite unique, almost experiential, thanks to the defined curves on the walls, the distinctive ceiling light and the built-in seating. In contrast to the microconcrete walls, the patterned flooring uses the same granite in three finishes: polished, stippled and textured. Artworks diffuse the uniformity of the walls, as does an organically shaped mirror, which also extends the visual sense of space.
