American Fusion’s Texatron clears first lab tests in early fusion energy milestone
['Kaif Shaikh']
Interesting Engineering
Fusion energy startup American Fusion Inc. has completed the initial phase of laboratory testing for its Texatron Fusion Engine, marking the transition of the company’s technology from years of engineering development into hands-on evaluation under controlled laboratory conditions.
These included the Texatron’s remote ignition and control system, plasma switching system, and high-voltage power supply operating within a controlled vacuum environment.
According to the fusion energy firm, no measurable radiation was detected during the initial engineering tests, an expected outcome given the nature of the experiments conducted.
American Fusion said the results compared favorably with several pre-test engineering expectations, although the company has not yet released detailed technical data.
For American Fusion, the completion of this initial testing phase marks the beginning, not the end of that journey.
