The plan, launched on July 27, sets out a long‑term vision to improve routes for walking, wheeling and cycling across the three towns, with the aim of making active travel more accessible and attractive for everyday journeys. Councillor Tom Wells, cabinet member with responsibility for highways and transport, said the LCWIP provides 'a clear framework' for enhancing local walking and cycling routes. The Wyre Forest Towns LCWIP identifies 15 primary and 16 secondary cycling routes, plus 16 primary and seven secondary walking and wheeling routes across the town centres. The Wyre Forest plan builds on Worcestershire’s wider programme of LCWIPs, which already includes adopted plans for Evesham and Redditch.
