Police in Libode in the Eastern Cape rescued a 38-year-old kidnapping victim and arrested one suspect. Captain Welile Matyolo said members of Libode Crime Prevention were on duty on Monday when they stopped a vehicle near the Msintsini locality at about 21:45. “Upon searching the vehicle, officers discovered an adult male victim whose hands were tied and who showed signs of assault. Preliminary investigations reveal that the victim had recently received a Road Accident Fund (RAF) payout,” Matyolo said. “The arrested individual is expected to appear in the Libode Magistrates’ Court soon on charges of kidnapping and robbery.
