The Welsh Government has announced a £3.1 million funding package to boost Welsh-speaking communities and improve essential facilities across Wales. The funding includes £2.7 million for upgrading the Urdd’s residential centres at Pentre Ifan, Llangrannog, and Glan-llyn. The remaining £400,000 is being delivered through the Perthyn grant scheme to help communities launch social enterprises and community-led housing projects centred around the Welsh language. Anna Brychan, cabinet secretary for education and the Welsh language, said the funding was about ensuring the continued growth and use of Welsh. She said: "This investment is about creating opportunities to use Welsh in everyday life and supporting our communities to thrive."
