Hermitage, PA - George Edward "Ed" Schweiss, 93, of Hermitage, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, in St. John XXIII Home, Hermitage. Mr. Schweiss was born on Oct. 19, 1932, in Transfer, a son of the late Martin and Luella (Ruffing) Schweiss. He was a 1950 graduate of Sharpsville High School and honorably served in the Army during the Korean War. Following his honorable discharge, Ed, along with his father and brothers, owned and operated the former Schweiss Garage on Broadway Avenue in Farrell. In addition to his parents and wife, Ed was preceded in death by two sisters, Florence Long and Catherine Hutchison; and four brothers, Martin, Richard, Robert and John Schweiss.
