Shortland Street returning to 4 episodes per weekLong running NZ soap will lift its output from February 2027. Shortland Street will return to a four-night-a-week from February 2027 on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+. The long running soap was scaled back to three episodes per week in 2024. TVNZ and South Pacific Pictures confirmed its future after securing continued support from NZ On Air and the Screen Production Rebate. South Pacific Pictures chief executive Kelly Martin said “Returning to four nights a week is something we’re all delighted about, and we look forward to continuing to entertain and delight New Zealanders.”
