The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has charged religious leaders to commend the government and not always criticise when things are bad. Wike, who was reacting to the latest comments by the Archbishop Emeritus of Abuja, John Cardinal Onaiyekan, on Tinubu’s government said ,religious leaders should not always take sides with the opposition against the government. “If you are a religious leader and it’s perceived or seen that you are taking a side which is very clear, it becomes difficult for people to begin to see those comments as being careful. I’m aware of the position of Cardinal Onaiyekan, all of us know that its not hidden. Government will begin to think that you are merely criticising because you are opposed to government.”
