Barbeques Galore has secured a lifeline and will continue trading after ACOM International acquired the retailer from its receivers. ACOM International is a wholesaler based in Seaford, Victoria, with more than 30 years of experience in camping, outdoor, and related categories. The acquisition includes Barbeques Galore’s intellectual property, wholesale inventory, and portfolio such as Ziegler & Brown, Ziggy, Turbo, Beefmaster, Firehawk, Arrosto Pizza Ovens, Downunder, Saxon, Maxiheat, and Kent. ACOM International intends to support independently owned Barbeques Galore stores, expand its distribution through existing wholesale customers, and explore partnerships with other retailers. “Our ambition is simple: to bring Barbeques Galore and some of Australia’s most loved barbecue and wood-heating brands within reach of more Australians,” newly appointed Barbeque Galore CEO, Mike Ainsworth said.
