James “Jim” Wendell Butler, age 73 of Louisville, Ky. passed away peacefully July 26, 2026. He was born on Sept. 24, 1952, in Schenectady, N.Y. to the late Elbert Merwin and Lovice Wilma Duke Butler. ; his oldest brother William Merwin Butler of Casstown, Ohio, and elder brother John Duke Butler of San Antonio, Texas. Jim is survived by his two sons, Joseph Warren Butler of San Antonio, Texas and David John Butler of DeRidder, La. Jim Butler grew up in Canaan, N.Y. and graduated from New Lebanon High School 1970.
