The RoundTable’s high school summer interns have written a series of articles highlighting some of the people and organizations working to address food insecurity in Evanston. With businesses donating surplus food, organizations expanding access, community gardens growing fresh produce and volunteers serving their neighbors every day, this work is a community-wide effort. “The foundation was [established] to address food insecurity and workforce development,” Clarence Weaver said in an interview with the RoundTable. Unlike many organizations that offer food to those in need, C&W doesn’t ask questions or require any qualifying information from families. Along with tackling food insecurity, the C&W Foundation is addressing workforce development.
