A vandalism-plagued New Milton toilet block was labelled “a liability” as town councillors consider the possibility of taking over its management.
The recreation ground conveniences, off Old Milton Road, were discussed after New Forest District Council wrote to town and parish councils regarding possible asset transfers amid local government reorganisation (LGR).

The town council’s executive committee later agreed running and maintenance costs details for the block should be sought from NFDC, along with annual vandalism costs.
“The district council does not have any plans to close any public toilets that it currently owns and operates,” a spokesperson told the A&T.
