Just The News - Not The Noise
Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley announced Monday that he has invited former Special Counsel Jack Smith to testify in front of his panel next month about the Arctic Frost investigation.
Grassley has led the Senate's investigation into Smith and his alleged efforts to prosecute President Donald Trump and his allies, which included the revelation that Smith subpoenaed phone records of multiple GOP senators during the Arctic Frost investigation.
“Smith has requested to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and our committee looks forward to hearing from him as part of Congress’ investigation into Arctic Frost and his time as Special Counsel.
The invitation comes after Smith testified in front of the House Judiciary Committee in January.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan has since asked the Justice Department to prosecute Smith, alleging he made false statements at a congressional deposition last year about lawmakers' communications.
