(Bernama pic)SEREMBAN : Ismail Lasim today defended his appointment as Negeri Sembilan menteri besar, saying it proceeded in an orderly manner and in accordance with the prescribed procedures. “I believe the appointment process was followed correctly,” he told reporters after beginning his duties at Wisma Negeri here. Ismail, who won the Juasseh state seat in the Negeri Sembilan election, was sworn in as menteri besar before Yang Dipertuan Besar Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir at Istana Besar Seri Menanti last Sunday. Barisan Nasional won 18 of the 36 seats in the Negeri Sembilan state polls, while Perikatan Nasional secured seven, giving the coalitions a two-thirds majority to form the state government.
