Bob Montgomery, a charity cyclist who has just finished a 5,200km bike ride from Broome to Bowral, died on Monday at the age of 82. MND NSW chief executive Liam O’Meara told ABC that Montgomery experienced a medical episode on his way home from a function at Sydney’s Rose Bay. According to the MND NSW website, his epic ride raised $104,965 in donations. MND NSW shared a tribute, saying it was “deeply saddened” by the sudden passing, calling Montgomery a “cherished friend and tireless supporter of MND NSW”. “At 82 years of age, Bob was still passionately sharing his message only hours before his passing.
