"Crews were able to gain additional access to impacted areas yesterday, allowing damage assessments to begin," BC Hydro said in a news release. Initial assessments indicate about 150 power poles will need to be replaced, with that number expected to grow as crews reach additional damaged areas. On Monday, crews were focused on continuing damage assessments, securing damaged electrical infrastructure and creating access for BC Wildfire Service crews and other first responders. BC Hydro said it is also bringing in additional crews, equipment and materials needed to begin rebuilding damaged infrastructure.
