Dean Jones can build a single traveller pitch on land to the south of Ringwood Road after planners approved his application on July 29. Plans submitted to the New Forest National Park Authority (NFNPA) outlined plans for a two-bedroom mobile home with an open-plan living area, private garden space, a gravel driveway and a single parking space with an electric car charging point. The planning statement from Mr Jones said that the “small-scale scheme” will “sit quietly” in the setting of the national park, adding that it would not harm the character of the countryside. He added that Mr Jones has family in the area and works locally in the New Forest, and that he is seeking just one pitch to meet his needs. The planning statement concluded there are no major issues over neighbours, wildlife, flooding, trees or drainage.
