FARMERS and crofters are set to share a £14.25m funding pot designed to help modernise their agricultural operations across the country. Grants of up to £20,000 will be made available from winter 2026 as part of the Scottish Government’s next round of the Future Farming Investment Scheme. First Minister John Swinney announced the new funding initiative today ahead of a planned visit to the annual Turriff Show. Under the parameters of the scheme, the majority of applicants will receive funding to cover 50% of their eligible costs. “It will help farmers and crofters invest in new equipment, modernise their operations and respond to the challenges posed by climate change, including increasingly frequent extreme weather events.
