The Gambian Minister of Lands, Local Government and Religious Affairs, Hamat N.K.
Bah, represented the Government of The Gambia at the annual Touba Magal, one of West Africa’s largest religious gatherings.
In his remarks, Bah underscored the deep spiritual and cultural ties linking The Gambia and Senegal, noting that the Magal serves as a symbol of unity and shared faith across borders.
The Touba Magal, which honors the exile of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba, founder of the Mouride brotherhood, attracts millions of worshippers annually.
Minister Bah’s address reaffirmed The Gambia’s respect for the Mouride community and emphasised the government’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Senegal through shared values of peace, faith, and cooperation.
